False Bay Diving

False Bay is considered at its best in the winter months of March to September. The norm is usually water temperatures of 15-16°C with visibility around 6-7m. Depending on various weather factors however, temperatures have on the odd day dropped to 11-12°C, but do occasionally climb as high as 20°C. Most divers opt for 5-7mm two piece wetsuits, with those inclined to freeze choosing the semi-dry or dry suit options. Torches may come in handy at many of the sites, and we recommend using a dSMB (delayed Surface Marker Buoy) as there is some boat traffic on occasion.
